Where it’s found

Selenite is a transparent or translucent crystalline form of gypsum. This cluster of clear blades on a gypsum base was documented in Roden, Zaragoza, Spain.

What to look for. Selenite can grow as clear plates or blades. Many silky white wands sold as ‘selenite’ are satin spar, a fibrous form of gypsum.

Common spellwork uses

Selenite often appears in cleansing and reset-themed work. It can symbolize a fresh start or mark the moment you’re ready to put one working away and turn your attention to the next.

These are symbolic associations in modern crystal practice.

Self-help and journaling

Give yourself permission to clear a small space, such as a corner of your desk or one page in a notebook. Notice what you want available when you come back to it.

Journal prompt. What can I set aside to make room for one thing that matters?

How to care for it

Keep it dry. Gypsum is soft enough to scratch easily, so dust it with a gentle, dry brush or cloth and store it apart from harder stones.
